Neil Kent has been training Microsoft
curriculum as an MCT since 1996. Subjects that he has taught in
include Windows 2000 and Windows NT, TCP/IP, Exchange, SQL and
others. Neil started in the computer industry working for an IBM
mainframe shop in 1984. In 1987 he was introduced to Novell networks
and his career took him through Novell's NetWare 2.15, 2.2, 3.1x,
4.x and currently 5.x operating systems. His original CNE included
certification tests including NetWare 2.2 and 3.1 NOSs. He went on
to receive his Enterprise CNE and in September of 1995 he earned his
Master CNE status in Infrastructure & Advanced Access. He
continues to maintain his CNE status and is currently also a CNE 5.
Being an early adopter of the need to
be certified in multiple NOSs and speculating on the prominence that
Microsoft would have on the industry, Neil pursued his MCSE. He has
since passed more than 30 Microsoft exams and is always working to
broaden his product knowledge. He currently holds the Microsoft MCSE
certification using the Windows 2000, NT 4 and NT 3.5 curriculum
tracks. He also holds the MCP, MCP+I, MCDBA, MCNE, CNE3, CNE5 and
MCT certifications.
Neil also spends quite a bit of time
in systems consutling and development. His consulting work ranges
from Windows 2000, Cluster Server, Exchange and architecture design
and implementation. Most of his development projects involve
Microsoft' s SQL Server as the backend.
Neil also met the requirements and
was conferred as a Certified Network Professional (CNP) which
requires the demonstration of the core fundamentals of networked
computing, expertise in multiple areas of specialty, networked
computing experience, adherence to a code of ethics and the
demonstrated commitment to the networked computing profession.
Neil is also recognized as a
Certified Technical Trainer (CTT) by the Chauncey Group
International and was recognized by Microsoft as a Charter 2000 MCSE
recognizing him as one of the first 2000 people in the world
certified as a MCSE with the Windows 2000 track.
Over the last ten years, Neil has
worked for a wide range of companies including small corporate
consulting companies and large Fortune 100 players. This diversity
gives him a substantial amount of experience that he is able to
bring into his classroom or on the consutlting job.
